Used to prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), recent heart attack, or after placement of a coronary stent (PCI). Dual antiplatelet therapy is more effective than either medicine alone in preventing dangerous clot formation in arteries.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in active significant bleeding (e.g. peptic ulcer or brain bleed), severe liver disease, or allergy to either component. Use with caution alongside anticoagulants, NSAIDs, or PPIs (omeprazole/esomeprazole may reduce clopidogrel efficacy — use pantoprazole if a PPI is needed). Tell your doctor and dentist before any surgery or invasive procedure.
