Cilnidipine 10 mg tablet (L/N-type calcium channel blocker)Uses & Indications
Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Cilnidipine has a unique dual-channel blocking action — it blocks both L-type (vascular smooth muscle) and N-type (neuronal) calcium channels. This results in blood vessel widening and also reduction of reflex fast heart rate (a side effect common with other calcium channel blockers). It is also associated with reduced protein in urine, making it particularly useful in hypertensive patients with diabetes or early kidney disease.Contraindications & Warnings
Use with caution in severe aortic stenosis or recent heart attack. Avoid grapefruit juice. Inform your doctor about all other medicines. Not recommended in pregnancy. Monitor blood pressure regularly, especially at treatment initiation.
