Used to treat angina (chest pain), high blood pressure (hypertension), and certain heart rhythm disorders (supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation rate control). The 30 mg dose is the lowest available immediate-release tablet, used for initiation of therapy or for patients who require a lower dose.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in severe heart failure, very slow heart rate, heart block without a pacemaker, or sick sinus syndrome. Do not combine with beta-blockers intravenously — risk of cardiac arrest. Oral combination with beta-blockers must be used with great caution. Many drug interactions — especially with digoxin, cyclosporin, and simvastatin. Avoid grapefruit juice.
