Used to treat chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults to reduce the risk of death and hospitalisation. Sacubitril enhances the effects of natriuretic peptides (substances that relax blood vessels and promote fluid removal); Valsartan blocks the harmful effects of angiotensin II.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use if you have a history of angioedema with any ACE inhibitor or ARB. Must not be taken within 36 hours of an ACE inhibitor. Do not use in pregnancy (harmful to the baby), or with aliskiren in diabetes or kidney disease. Specialist cardiology monitoring is required.
