Used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients who have had a previous heart attack or acute coronary syndrome, particularly those at high risk of further cardiovascular events. At 60 mg (twice daily), this is the maintenance dose used beyond 12 months after an initial acute event.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use if you have active bleeding (e.g. stomach ulcer or brain bleed), severe liver disease, are taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin — they greatly increase ticagrelor levels), or are taking high-dose aspirin (>100 mg/day — reduces ticagrelor's effectiveness). Inform all doctors and dentists you take this medicine. Tell your doctor about all other medicines.
