Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate causing urinary symptoms), and Raynaud's phenomenon. Prazosin relaxes the muscles in blood vessel walls and the prostate, lowering blood pressure and improving urine flow.Contraindications & Warnings
Take the first dose at bedtime to reduce the risk of fainting from first-dose hypotension. Avoid rising quickly from sitting or lying position. Do not use with other alpha-blockers. Use with caution in patients undergoing cataract surgery (tell your ophthalmologist you take this medicine — intraoperative floppy iris syndrome risk). Avoid in pregnancy.
