Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), angina (chest pain), certain heart rhythm problems (tachyarrhythmias), essential tremor, anxiety symptoms (palpitations, trembling hands), and to prevent migraines. Also used in hyperthyroidism and phaeochromocytoma management.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in asthma or significant COPD (non-selective — bronchospasm risk), cardiogenic shock, severe heart block, or very slow heart rate. Never stop abruptly — risk of rebound angina and heart attack. Use with caution in diabetes. Significant interactions with calcium channel blockers (especially verapamil), antiarrhythmics, and antidiabetic medicines.
