Do not use in severe asthma, significant COPD, cardiogenic shock, severe bradycardia, or severe heart block. Atenolol must not be stopped abruptly. Avoid grapefruit juice (increases amlodipine levels). Not recommended in pregnancy — atenolol can cause intrauterine growth restriction.
