Used to lower high cholesterol (hypercholesterolaemia) when a statin alone is not sufficient. Atorvastatin reduces cholesterol production in the liver; Ezetimibe reduces absorption of cholesterol from food in the intestine. Together they significantly lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in pregnancy or breastfeeding (statins and ezetimibe are harmful to the unborn baby). Do not use with active liver disease. Avoid excessive alcohol. Tell your doctor about all medicines — especially other statins, fibrates, macrolide antibiotics, or antifungals, which can increase muscle-related side effects. Monitor liver enzymes periodically.
