Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Indapamide removes excess salt and fluid from the body and also relaxes blood vessel walls. It is a sulphonamide-based diuretic with both diuretic and direct vasodilatory effects.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, inability to urinate (anuria), low potassium or sodium levels, or allergy to sulphonamide medicines (cross-sensitivity possible). Lithium levels can rise if taken together — avoid combination. Monitor electrolytes regularly, especially potassium and sodium. Avoid in pregnancy.
