Dabigatran Etexilate 150 mg capsule (direct oral anticoagulant — direct thrombin inhibitor)Uses & Indications
Used to prevent stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Also used to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) after initial parenteral anticoagulation. The 150 mg dose is the standard dose for most patients with atrial fibrillation.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in active significant bleeding, severe kidney disease (CrCl <30 mL/min), prosthetic heart valves, or severe liver disease. No routine INR monitoring needed but kidney function must be checked periodically (at least annually). Monitor for bleeding closely especially in elderly patients or those with kidney disease. Tell all doctors and dentists before any procedure.
