Used to treat chronic stable angina and chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) when the heart rate remains too fast despite optimal beta-blocker therapy (or when beta-blockers cannot be used). Ivabradine specifically slows the heart rate without affecting blood pressure or heart contractility.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use if heart rate is below 60 beats per minute at rest, in severe liver disease, or with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, clarithromycin, diltiazem, verapamil — these significantly raise ivabradine levels to dangerous concentrations). Not for use in atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, pacemaker dependence, or in pregnancy.
