Used to treat mild to moderate high blood pressure (hypertension). The 0.2 mg dose is the starting or lower maintenance dose. Moxonidine acts centrally in the brain to reduce sympathetic nervous system activity, relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in severe heart problems (sick sinus syndrome, AV block grade II or III), severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol and sedatives — increase drowsiness. Use with caution in depression. Do not stop abruptly.
