Nebivolol is a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. As with other β-blockers, it is generally a less preferred treatment for high blood pressure. It may be used by itself or with other blood pressure medication. It is taken by mouth.

Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic heart failure (in patients aged 70 years and above). Nebivolol is the most cardioselective beta-blocker available and uniquely also stimulates release of nitric oxide, adding a vasodilatory effect that improves blood flow. This makes it particularly useful in heart failure and in patients with COPD or diabetes who need a beta-blocker.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use in severe asthma, significant COPD (use with caution even at this dose in mild COPD), cardiogenic shock, severe bradycardia, or severe heart block. Must not be stopped abruptly. Use with caution in diabetes. Avoid in pregnancy.
