Used for the prevention of angina attacks (chest pain) in patients with coronary artery disease. Not used to treat an acute angina attack. Nitroglycerin relaxes the muscles in blood vessel walls, widening them and improving blood flow to the heart.Contraindications & Warnings
Do not use if you are allergic to nitrates, have severe anaemia, increased intracranial pressure, or are taking PDE5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil — for erectile dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension). Combination causes dangerous blood pressure drop. Avoid alcohol. Do not use for acute angina relief — use a fast-acting sublingual tablet for that.
